No, but idiot hipsters do shit things with it.
Node has a lot of problems with it's community-lead design that has ridiculous feature creep and most frameworks/libraries are written in the most naive way, like a single library requiring several hundred other packages. If you use Node and write your own code while adding a few libraries you actually read over then it's a fairly decent runtime that makes it really easy to solve problems by brute force. With the addition of TypeScript, you get something analogous to a real type system.
